Social Media Is Not Your Platform

There is a common misconception that many people have when using social media, as they make the mistake of thinking that social media is their platform. In this video I explain the importance of not only understanding that social media is not their platform, but also the necessity to use social media as a tool to drive people to their own platform; their website.

  1. You couldn’t have said it better. I’m always reminding clients that social media channels should be used as a catalyst to help drive leads. You don’t own those those channels (facebook, G+, etc.). It’s like renovating an apartment that you lease. At the end of the day, the owner is the one who benefits. In this case it’s Zuckerberg.

    1. Thanks Naomi. Yes it’s good to be aware that eventually you want to bring people from someone else’s platform to your own! Thanks for the comment. Best-MJ
